How can we help?
Billing
How do we pay?
By M-PESA STK push, M-PESA Paybill (captured automatically from the confirmation SMS), bank transfer or other approved gateways.
What happens if we stop paying?
After a grace period the family space becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted or made public, and full access returns as soon as you renew.
Can we change plans?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades are prorated; downgrades never delete data.
Genealogy
How do we record polygamous or multiple marriages?
Add as many unions as needed for a person — current or ended, customary, religious or civil — and link each child to the correct parents.
What if we only know an approximate birth year?
Choose “Year only” or “Approximate” precision. You can also mark facts as documented, family tradition or unverified.
Can we import our tree from another website?
Yes — upload a GEDCOM (.ged) file exported from Ancestry, MyHeritage, FamilySearch, Gramps and others.
General
Who can see our family tree?
Only members you invite. Living people's details are restricted by default, children's records are always private, and iTach staff cannot see your records unless your family approves time-limited support access.
Can one person belong to two families?
Yes. A person can be recorded in several family spaces (for example their own family and their spouse's) without those families sharing each other's private records.
Security
Do you back up our data?
Yes — encrypted daily, weekly and monthly backups. Family administrators can also download or email their own encrypted family backup.
Welfare
Where does contributed money go?
Directly to your family's own M-PESA or bank account. The platform records payments, posts balanced accounting entries and issues receipts.
